
Nobel prize in economics to be announced

It follows the announcements(公布) last week of the prizes in medicine [?medisin]
(醫(yī)學(xué)), physics [?fiziks](物理), chemistry [?kemistri]
(化學(xué)), literature [?lit?rit??](文學(xué)) and peace [pi:s](和平).
Last year, American Elinor Ostrom became the first woman to win the economics prize in its 40-year history when she shared it with Oliver Williamson for work on how community institutions can prevent conflict [?k?nflikt](沖突).
The Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences(諾貝爾經(jīng)濟(jì)科學(xué)紀(jì)念獎) was established in 1968 by the Central Bank of Sweden(瑞典中央銀行) in memory [?mem?ri](紀(jì)念)of Alfred Nobel. It is given by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences(瑞典皇家科學(xué)學(xué)院), which since 1901 has been awarding the prizes for achievements(成就) in the aforementioned(之前所提到的) fields.
