鐘南山認為，CDC（疾病預防控制中心）不應該僅僅是一個單純的信息收集的技術機構(gòu)，應該被賦予更大的權(quán)力。

Zhong Nanshan believes that the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) should not be a purely technical institution for information collection, but should be given greater power.

鐘南山團隊曾經(jīng)預測，“如果封城行動再往前5天，到現(xiàn)在為止，全國的病例數(shù)或許只有2萬左右；但是推后5天，全國到3月份后的發(fā)病峰值應該是17萬。”

Zhong Nanshan's team once predicted that "if the city is closed for another five days, the number of cases nationwide may be only about 20,000; but five days later, the peak incidence in the country after March should be 170,000."

他認為，早期的科學防控舉措是極為重要的。這些工作應該是CDC來做、來進行研判、預測。必要的緊急情況下，CDC應該有權(quán)力向社會發(fā)出預警。強調(diào)加強CDC建設，提升CDC地位，正是為了爭取疫情防控時間窗。

He believes that early scientific prevention and control measures are extremely important. These tasks should be done by the CDC, judged and predicted. The CDC should have the power to issue early warnings to the society in case of a necessary emergency. The emphasis on strengthening the construction of the CDC and improving the status of the CDC is precisely to strive for the time window for epidemic prevention and control.
