According to foreign media reports, the deadline for the Brexit is approaching, and negotiations with the EU have entered the sprint phase. German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on the 17th that negotiations with London are moving in a positive direction, but she stressed that the two sides have not yet reached an agreement.
在布魯塞爾緊急峰會召開前幾小時，默克爾對德國議員們說，談判正在“取得進展，但仍未達到目標”。A few hours before the emergency summit in Brussels, Merkel told German lawmakers that the negotiations are "making progress, but still have not achieved their goals."
默克爾此前曾表示，她本人并對協(xié)議如期達成的可能性持保守樂觀態(tài)度。Merkel had previously said that she was conservative and optimistic about the possibility of the agreement being reached on schedule.
16日，歐洲理事會主席圖斯克曾表示，目前協(xié)議的主要條款已敲定。他強調(diào)，從理論上講，17日我們將通過這份協(xié)議，避免因英國無協(xié)脫歐而引起混亂。On the 16th, the European Council President Tusk said that the main terms of the agreement have been finalized. He stressed that, in theory, we will pass this agreement on the 17th to avoid confusion caused by the British disengagement.
