記憶英語單詞不僅要懂得它的意思，還得知道它在某個句子和文章中的用法。今天說的是四級常用詞匯，要做好筆記喔~希望能幫到大家。
1.accelerate: 后面接名詞，表示“加速”，中性詞，好事壞事都能用。
例句：How do you plan to accelerate the development of these technologies?
目前您打算如何加快這方面的技術(shù)研發(fā)?
2. adequate: “足夠的”，用來替代經(jīng)常被使用的enough.
例句：I have no adequate preparation.
我沒有充分的準備。
3. advance: 名詞，“進步，發(fā)展”，用來替代文章開頭經(jīng)常使用的development，progress.
例句：This generation is hungry to advance.
這一代年輕人渴求進步。
4. alternative:“其他的選擇或辦法”，比如an alternative is that… 就相當(dāng)于in addition(除此 之外)了。
例句：We have the alternative plans of having a picnic or taking a boat trip.
我們在去野餐或者去乘船旅游兩個計劃中只能選一。
5. applicable / feasible / workable:都表示“可行的”，用在政策、法令、手段等詞前面做修飾語，既可增加字長，又可以提高詞匯水平。
例句：This section of the law is applicable only to corporations.
這部分法律只適用于公司。
6. approach / channel:“方法，手段”，用來替代我們經(jīng)常使用的一些簡單詞匯，如method 等等。
例句：He still had not the courage to approach her.
他仍沒有勇氣靠近她。
7. approve of something:“批準，同意”，注意不要忘記介詞of.
例句：I presume you will approve of the plan.
我相信你會贊成這個計劃。
8. ban / prohibit something:“禁止，杜絕”，表達這個含義時盡量不要使用stop.
例句：Smoking is prohibited here.
這里禁止吸煙。
9. barrier / obstacle / impediment:“障礙、阻礙”，名詞，在寫作考試中經(jīng)常被用到。
例句：Heavy duties on imports and exports are a barrier to international trade.
進出口的高關(guān)稅是國際貿(mào)易的障礙。
10. capital / fund:解決社會問題時一般都會提到需要投資，可以用到這兩個單詞，替代money,Finance 金融 financial
例句：Capital and output ratios, especially in those industries which imports technologies, tend to decline.
資本與產(chǎn)出的比率,尤其是在引進技術(shù)的企業(yè)中呈下降趨勢!
11.challenging:“困難，有難度”，用來替代difficult.
例句：Jigsaw puzzle is a very challenging game for me.
拼圖對我而言是很具挑戰(zhàn)性的游戲。
12. considerable:“相當(dāng)大，相當(dāng)多的”，非常常用的修飾語，比如considerable changes就是相當(dāng)大的變化。
例句：The mayor is a considerable official.
市長是一位重要的官員。
13. in contrast:“相反”，用來替代我們經(jīng)常使用的on the contrary，on the other hand.
例句：In contrast, others insist on reading extensively.
與此相反，其他人堅持閱讀廣泛。
14. conversely:“相反地”，也可以用來替代on the contrary，on the other hand.
例句：Conversely, when Earth and Mars are near each other, Mars looms large and bright.
相反地，當(dāng)?shù)厍蚝突鹦蔷嚯x較近，火星看上去就顯得很大很明亮。
